My gf is shit at cooking. She was never taught by her parents, they just ate out/got takeaway for every meal, just like Jack. Unlike Jack she is self aware. I try to get her involved by making her chop veg but she cut herself pretty bad once trying to cut onions so she is afraid of knives now

But she is decent at baking anything that does not involve yeast. I have this theory that baking is basically easy mode cooking because it's almost impossible to fuck up if you follow the directions and have a decent oven. I guess you could overmix things but recipies usually mention when that is a problem
