I want to learn how to make POO food. What are the essential spices to buy?

Need some recipes to get started.

How do I learn to use spices correctly? There's often around 4-8 different spices in Indian dishes but when I add them based on just my gut feeling the food ends up tasting unimpressive and having this "generic" spice flavor, like mixing all the different colors together to make brown.

This links to chicken recipes, there are links at the bottom of the page for seafood & veg. All recipes are regional, great site. If you live in the states, and don't have access to an Indian market, get your spices from a Mexican market, they're sold in bulk and cheap as dirt

Most recipes call for whole spice that you toast and then grind by hand, and although it often yields a "better tasting" dish, I find it to be a PIA and not worth the extra effort outside of special occasions, it's sufficient to toast ground spices in the pan. The purpose of this is to release their oils and make them more fragrant. Ground spices also get stale over time, throw out anything that's been in the cupboard for ages and spring for new stuff. Finally, cook. Use them. Mix up your own garam masala, make some of the dishes I linked to here>>8247188, point being that if you don't know what the particular blend smells or tastes like your not going to get there. The neat thing about Indian food to learn to use spices is that when you get a grasp of say, how much cinnamon is too much, you can branch out into other cuisines like North African, ME, Caribbean, SE Asian, etc. with little effort.

It's funny you call this "poo food," because literally everytime I have curry my stomach ranges from slightly unsettled to my toilet is begging for mercy.

No other type of food bothers me, so not really sure what it is. I read the spices can irritate the lining of the stomach, but, I eat spicy food often.

I think the phrase relates to lower caste Indians shitting in the streets, but could be wrong. Not fluent in bong bantz.

Wrong.
Please fuck off.
Not everyone uses shit tier bland overstored spices.

Figure out what to marinate when.
I.e Marinating the meat, then the sauce and then the dish tastes different than adding spices to the final dish.

You just need to buy curry powders.

When I make roti I use 2 scoops of regular and one of spicy.

They just stew the shit out of their food

it's /int/ bantz, think an aussie probably started it

And yeah it comes from POO IN LOO
because of the designated shitting streets
