I was brought up muslim to pork to me tastes really bad, like way too rich and fatty.

But people go on about bacon like it's the tastiest thing on Earth. And people love greasy, overwhelming pepperoni pizza

I've tried pork products for a few years now. What is it that I'm not getting about pork? Where's the tastiness?

Perhaps you should consider having surgery to scrape the sand off your tongue. The medical issue is called sandniggeritis; quite dangerous actually. It ultimately causes you to be obliterated by drones and if certain individuals get power, nuclear weapons. Suggest immediate medical treatment.

Pig flesh is actually very bland. But the fat has an incredible amount of rich flavor.

But you might actually need a well raised pig to appreciate pork fat. The pork from grocery stores or walmart is pretty bad.

The richness + saltiness and often sweetness/smokiness if it's cured. But not everyone likes it. Or some people only like small bits like bacon in an omelette or ham in bean soup.

I guess after snacking daily on the roastie of your 9 year old child bride most other things aren't going to taste very nice

These, op. I dunno if you've ever seen futurama, but zoidberg smells terrible and he finally gets a girlfriend but she can't smell. Eventually she gets a surgery where she can smell and she isn't repulsed but attracted to zoidberg. I'm pretty tipsy right now so I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense

Did you have pork, or cured bacon? Because those are two very different things.

I had both

Compared to beef, pork isn't that great. But it's a staple for a lot of different recipes. The only difference is variety. You can eat all chicken, all pork, or all beef. It don't matter. Just eat what makes you happy and try not to be such a sandnigger all the time.

Seriously, you guys are neck and neck with Somalians, and they're fucking garbage.

It's learned revulsion. It protects your religious conviction. Vegans teach it to themselves, too, you just have fewer forbidden meats than them. You can unlearn your revulsion if you want, but you probably have more important goals in life to spend your money and energy on.

I lost my faith many years ago, I don't have any guilt or revulsion

Maybe it's like Europeans eating USA's food. Too much sugar, too much fat, it's disgusting at first, but you get used to.

Oh please. A Five Guys opened in London and there was a four hour wait to get an order placed. The line stretched for a mile.

Oh yes I had that in an Italian restaurant in Berlin.

Yikes, all of that white sauce and the rich, fatty bacon.

I literally had to make some Carbonara right now because talking about it made me all giddy.

Are you okay with regular pork? Try some pork loin, maybe you just don't gel with the overly salty cured pork.
And if you're still near Berlin, get some Currywurst, or pork sausage in general. I like it a lot more than beef sausage personally.

Find yourself some good barbecue. Pulled pork, smoked ham (like from a real smoker, not anything found in a supermarket,) pork sausage.

Remember, if it wasn't great, you went to the wrong place, and it may be hard to find in certain localities.

I haven't tried pork loin

I've had currywurst though. I'm not into pork sausage since I grew up eating merguez

Bacon is good but the meme shit got way out of hand. Bacon on a burger does make it better but its not hte most fantastic thing in the world.

Pulled pork is much better than bacon btw

Merguez is usually better than pork sausage, so you're not missing out on too much. A nice currywurst once in a while can be very tasty though.

If you haven't had pork loin before, try it with a wine-cream-mushroom sauce sometime; deglaze the pan, after frying the loin and mushrooms, with wine (I'm assuming you didn't have a lot of contact with alcohol either), let it bubble for a bit, add some cream, season with black pepper and salt. Wa la.

If you don't enjoy this, I think that all faith is lost :^)

>> No.8219981

Honestly porks a pretty shitty piece of meat. Won't taste good unless you season it to hell

Pretty much. That is more common when it has been sitting in a warmer with bbq sauce all day tho. I personally really like pork loin. Bacon is solid but in moderation with the right smoke. Cheap bacon is really bad

Its supposed to be soft if thats what your question means. Make sure you make it yourself or get it at a proper place
