What's the worst dish you ever made, /ck/?

Lemon bars

A "pizza" when I got desperate and used a box of summer sausages and cheeses from a gift box I'd gotten a week prior.

The cheeses do not work. Summer sausage even less so. Still ate it, but god damn was it depressing.

>> No.8211490

I once made chicken thighs in some cream sauce, but I was high so I salted it what must have been 4-6 times and forgot about it.

was hungry so I ate it all. It was awful.

>> No.8211507

I once baked bread that was better than bread from a bakery so I consider that a win

>> No.8211511

Used Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce to flavor my ramen. Was a horrible mistake. Just didn't go at all.

That time I fell asleep because I was drunk and woke up from my fire alarm and coal black food in the oven.

it was the middle of the night, no money, nothing in the pantry besides flour salt pepper oil vinegar. tried making a soup by searing flour, it was disgusting

why not flatbread? do you hate yourself?
anyway, my worst fail was setting fire to the oil I was using to make an omelette

>> No.8211849

one time I was pretty drunk and poured milk all over my pancakes instead of syrup

hands down the worst was when I forgot to strain the ground beef for tacos and the grease was just pouring out the bottom

> shudder.

>> No.8211892

I made beans and they went bad because I left the damn strainer out overnight, but I didn't realize until I made refried beans and put it on nachos. I was so disappointed in myself

Depends on how much fat is in the mince. You can also toss in a little water/cornflour. It'll consolidate the oil somewhat. Obviously it's still there, but it's less prone to separating and dripping.

>> No.8211919

Microwaved a couple of frozen burritos, put them in a food processor, added queso, and ate it with chips

Not my proudest moment but it was delicious

>> No.8211935

tossed canned tuna in the stove with various spices. then added it to my clam chowder. wasn't terrible but the fish taste was overpowering

>> No.8211972

rice

I cooked my rice normally, then added 3 spoonfuls of mustard, french style mustard, really hot, it was all I had, and I thought it would add some flavour
boy was I wrong, the rice was hot, just breathing the fumes made me cough and cry, it was burning my longs.
I waited 10 minutes for the rice to cool down but it was not enough, it was burning my thoat, my nose, my eyes, as soon as it touched my tongue i nearly chocked to death, sobbing uncontrollably from the toxic vapours.
I waited 30 minutes starving and coughing, then when it cooled off, i ate it.
it was disgusting, but at least it didn't try to murder me anymore

You missed the word "desperate". The cheese was the first idea, and because the sausage was in the box with the cheese, I went for it.

I baked a cheesecake once. The middle was totally runny and the outer rim was burned. God I even brought it to work and tried to feed it to people.

>> No.8212223

Chili. My brother can't handle acid, which means no tomatoes, so I just made normal chili, but with corn and basically no liquids. Burned the hell out of it.

When I first started cooking, I refused to use a recipe, so I learned at the fraction of the speed I could have. Most of it was just over-seasoned. Too much onion, garlic, salt, etc.

The meatloaf with like 3 cups of minced onion has to be the worst. Not even leftover tomato soup or meatloaf sandwiches could save it.

I've wasted a lot of food in my day.

Aunt Myrna's Party Cheese Salad

>> No.8212816

the absolute worst thing I ever made was "sweet scrambled eggs" when I was 12 or somewhere around that age. Basically just beaten eggs, a splash of milk, sugar and cocoa powder. It was an unholy grey mass that I tried eating with jam on toast.

>> No.8212880

Tried making peanut satay.
It ended up being chicken in liquid peanut butter.

>> No.8212898

made chili with a can of corned beef hash one time and it tasted even worse... so much salt... so much can flavor.

I can't recall anything drastic that I have fucked up but recently my boyfriend went full retard and followed a recipe for pancakes on allrecipes that called for one teaspoon salt to 1or 2 eggs. It was saltier than League of Legends match

Easily the worst dish I made was when I was a little desperate for food and made the wrong decision to *cook* a chocolate cake from scratch with no flour, milk, sugar, or eggs. I also had to substitute the chocolate with protein mix. I said cook because I didn't bake it. Used a microwave because I didn't have pans at the time.

It was so fucking disgusting but nearly impossible to stop eating.

Kek, this just brought up a memory of when I was a child, I'd forgotten about it. I was 5-8 and wanted to make cookies, so I used normal cookie batter ingredients first (my dad was watching with amusement) but then I added weird shit I can't remember like jimmies and garlic powder and God knows what. When they came out of the oven they were purple and crispy and I think my dad tried to bite one and never gave me the chance to

>> No.8214233

Stir fry and the liquid thickened with corn starch. I didn't know how to use cornstarch yet, used too much and got a gelatinous mass with meat and veggies in it. Really gross texture.

Lol I used a bowl when i cooked the damned thing in the microwave for 5 minutes. Tasted like shit as well.

>> No.8214328

When I was kind of poor my junior year of college I made the mistake of buying and preparing a week's worth of dinners before testing the meal. Penne with marinara and brats, it was a pretty shitty week.
