So I'm looking into expanding my horizon on Glenfiddich whiskeys, and there's a bunch at sale at my workplace.
I'm currently looking at 15 yo distillery edition at 51%, and a vintage cask edition which is travel exclusive. Would it be worth it to get into that, or should I go into other directions in terms of Scotch whisky?

Go for the intrinsic quality rather than marketing ploys. Craft presentation, that's what you want.

Of those two get the distillery edition. Almost cask strength, isn't ageless, and probably non-chill filtered too. Travel exclusives tend to be where distilleries and blenders offload the garbage batches since nobody returns shitty tasting liquor to a duty free.

I heard this too.
But considering the circumstances, it's like £45 here, and is priced at minimum 80£ on several websites. Might be a little cheaper in duty free areas like airports and ferries, but doubt it's going to be less than £50.

Friend of mine recommended the distillery edition quite heavily, especially with a little water due to the strength, so I think I'm going with that.
