Is using pudding in cakes and pies cheating?

Does it do something special?

you dont have to worry about texture since making pudding is braindead easy, you're done way faster and you have to actively try to fuck up taste. Just throw fruit in the general direction of your cake and you're done

Not at all. A good pineapple upside down cake uses pudding.

Now if you're really on the edge, you'll go for the Jello or Poke Cake (circa 1970). It is the creme de la creme and it must be frosted with Cool Whip.

you'll thank me later

Nope. Good graham cracker crust, some vanilla/coconut/lime pudding, cool whip. That's church lady food m8. Delish.
