turns there are farms that make foie gras humanely, i saw a video where they have the same feeder as to not freak out the ducks and they just feed the ducks often while letting them run around the barns, and the tubes have been made of a soft plastic that doesn't hurt the ducks, they just walk up to the person doing the feeding, they feed the duck and it walks off.
I used to be very against foie gras but after seeing the video I am mostly ok with it, though I still probably wouldnt eat it.

Since geese don't have gag reflexes, I don't see the methodology as being much more aggressive than any other meat raising. The literal and inescapable facts of the practice are what I find morally questionable.

Imagine if we found out cows with lung cancer produced especially delicious beef for some reason. The experience of smoking is surely more pleasant than having a tube stuck down your throat, gag reflex or not, but the fact is, animals are being given major organ failure for the customer's increased pleasure in either case.

cows walk around because if their muscles were underdeveloped they would taste shitty and output smaller cut sizes, appreciating the animal and taking care of it will make it taste heaps better.

Put your hand in a jar of mayonaise. Now put your hand in a bowl of water. Slosh it around for ten minutes to simulate the boiling water. Then see if you feel like going about your daily life without rinsing your hand off first.

Sure, it can't possibly be necessary. Hell, the mayo is probably less biotic than the water due to the vinegar content, but if you think about it too hard, you're gonna wanna do it.

I don't rinse my noodles, for the record. I'm just positing the first reason I'd have to do it aside from wanting them al dente.

By no means am I a PETA faggot but I still think that it's important to appreciate where the meat comes from and how its treated because otherwise we get shit like that mad cow epidemic that happened late 80's early 90's in the UK.

I'm not a PETA faggot either, or guy you're replying too.

I dunno. The suffering you're talking about is stagnation. It's being anthropomorphic tho, cows are kinda dumb shits.

I'm a hunter tho, and believe in clean kills. It's a theory if you shoot something (in my case white tail deer) and it suffers for a prolonged time it releases adrenaline and other shit which makes the meat worse. Rather that's true or not, I do not know. I just believe in clean kills so the animal doesn't suffer.

Cows are a bit smarter than what you make them out to be, researchers have found that cows have enough understanding to make friends and hold grudges with other cows.

Adrenaline and stress does make the meat worse, studies done have shown that animals not slaughtered correctly or efficiently can develop abnormalities in the meat.
