For those who've had both, which do you prefer: M&Ms or Smarties?

M&Ms all the way. The coating on Smarties is too thick and sugary.

Pretzel M&Ms are the fucking best.

Nope, see the OP image. The coating is considerably thicker, and they're crunchier as a result.

>> No.7091558

M&M's I guess. The chocolate in Smarties is a bit shitty but really they're both basically the kind of chocolate that I would reach for last.

smarties.only for nostalgic reasons, though..

Smarties. The chocolate tastes better. Peanut M&Ms are pretty good, though.

>>7091529
In the US, Smarties are chalky sugar candies like Necco Wafers. You can only get the chocolate ones at import stores, and most people haven't had them.

OP here, I'm Canadian and didn't know Smarties were the name of a different product in the US. In Canada and the UK, Smarties are basically the same thing as M&Ms.

This exactly. Plain M&Ms taste boring and have a plain texture, and Smarties are tasty but plain-textured. The peanut adds taste and texture. Peanut Smarties would be neat.

Same here. I didn't know what smarties chocolates were until I went to hong kong. They also had polo mints instead of lifesavers.

Only place where I can get smarties now is at the indian supermarkets.

m&ms no contest

>> No.7092655

I've been internally debating this for a few minutes now and I can't honestly decide. I guess its all what I'm in the mood for at the time. If I want a softer chocolate, I go M&Ms, mini ones if available. If I want a sweeter candy shell, I go with Smarties.

Reese's Pieces if its Halloween or I want weird tasting "peanut butter"

>> No.7092752

Holy fuck that's inside a smartie? Fucking DISGUSTING

>> No.7092782

I'm not big on either, but I think I'd pick smarties.
This is because smarties are shaped so that you can crush them with your tongue easily, which is a satisfying thing to do.
m&ms have too much strucutral integrity for this purpose.

the only weird thing about reece's peanut butter is the sugar content.
