/pol/ helped give me both a private laugh and a well praised Christmas. They gave me a recipe of Hitler's favorite treat (aptly dubbed Fuhrer cake) and I made and served it for Christmas lunch with my immediate and extended family. Sorry for the delay, out doing my civic duties

Fuhrer Cake (serves 20 people, or one sweet toothed dictator)

1 1/3 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup melted butter
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup milk
2 cups finely chopped apple
1 cup chopped walnuts

Grease and flour a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar and melted butter. Beat in eggs and vanilla with a wooden spoon.

Into another bowl sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Stir into egg mixture alternating with milk. Stir in apples and chopped walnuts

Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes, until cake springs back when gently pressed with finger.
