There are two cheap Chinese lunch buffets within equidistance of where I work. Both places have the same cutlery/dishes, have the same buffet heating table, and serve the exact same food. The only difference is one place is a dollar more, seems to put less salt in their food and comes with a free pop.

I imagine there is some sort of parent company that owns a bunch of these places throughout the city, however I find it strange that they are not branded and franchised like a panda express, but have unregistered generic names. Are they a front for some sort of money laundering or human trafficking scheme?
