Personally, I love capers in just about everything (within reason). If it won't ruin a dish, you can bet I'm putting 3 tbsp in. I'll eat a spoonful of them plain.

What are they good in that you eat often? I have a jar in the fridge, I just don't know what to do with them.

Any whitefish - cook in a pan in 1/2 oil, 1/2 butter. Remove, add a little more butter, some herbs, some acid (lemon juice or vinegar) and capers. Reduce and put on the fish.

Anise
Purple sweet potato
Mamey (pic related)
Florida avocado (not the same as regular ones)
Jicama
Butterfly pea (makes a natural blue food coloring)

Why bother using mamey in a recipe? It's essentially a fully fleshed out dessert by itself.

I went to this really good pizza place in Indianapolis and they have them on their salmon pizza. A bit too many capers, but it was pretty good.

Where can I buy a mamey? They look interesting and tasty.
