Hi /ck/, any advice for making my jerk chicken better?

Recipe:

Ingredients:

5 lbs. chicken pieces
¼ cup molasses
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
⅓ cup soy sauce
4 cloves garlic, peeled
1 tsp ginger powder
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp thyme
¼ tsp nutmeg
1 onion
1 orange
1 serrano pepper

Grind all this stuff up in a blender except for the orange and onion. Cut the orange and onion into quarters and set them at the bottom of your slow cooker.

Rub most of the sauce it on some chicken chunks and throw them in a slow cooker on high for 4 hours.

Take the chicken out, put it in a cooking dish, pour the rest of the sauce all over it, and then cook it in the over under the broiler for a few minutes

Yeah, throw out the slow cooker. Grill over wood (or at least charcoal) instead.

It should be grilled over wood or charcoal, and made with at least one scotch bonnet pepper. If you can't do those, then propane and a habanero.
