What kind of pepper is that? I've never seen a straight black one such as that but I've seen and tasted plenty of chocolate looking ones that look a lot like habaneros or scotch bonnets, never like those which look like black tabascos or serranos.

I grew some tomatoes last year, but it made me realize there's something peculiar about the soil.

Huge amounts of tomatoes grew, and they tasted fine but,
They kept growing into just before December. Which is spooky because i'm in Philadelphia.

Also I planted some easter lily bulbs and they bloomed in spring, died off, and bloomed again in August.
I don't think that's normal.

Not sure. The pepper started growing wildly, probably from the previous plant, but it became black.

I have a rare medical condition where I am hyper-sensitive to capsaicin, to the point that the naturally occurring capsaicin found in oxygen is overwhelming. Ever since I was born, every single breath I took set my airways and lungs aflame, until doctors recently found a solution in surgically implanting milkgills in my neck, so that I may live in relative comfort, typing this very message from inside my milktank on my HP BreadBook laptop with quad-grain processor.

yep. first time gardening and I'm growing poblanos

didn't get around to planting until early june. wondering if the area I put the plant in was a bit too small, because I immediately got a single pepper that grew quite large, and then there was no other growth until a week or two ago. I now have 6 other peppers growing pretty well though, so I'm hoping they turn out well. didn't know about bolting, so I was just happy that I had a pepper so quickly. they're also much longer and thinner than poblanos typically are, so I have no idea how they'll turn out.

leaving them all on the vine as long as possible in the hopes that they dry out since I plan on making paprika with them.

You can pickle them sweet, salty, spiced, w/e. I saw a recipe in the canning thread which looked promising:

>>6839451

The real reason to pickle the rinds is because they're one of the most concentrated sources of citrulline - which is literally God-tier for your balls and reproductive health.

I help my grandpa in the garden.
He has

Herbs: parsley, mint, basil, rosemary
Veggies: capsicum, eggplant, chilli, garlic
Fruit: tomato (cherry and 'normal'), passionfruit, lemon, mandarins, mango

A lot of the stuff is quite young but it'll be an awesome garden one day.

Lettuce
Tomatoes and peppers if you have a big enough pot (5 gallon buckets work well)
Certain strawberry varieties
There are some newer varieties of berries (blueberries, raspberries) that are bred specifically for container growing

Just don't cheap out on the soil. Biggest mistake people make. And never use Miracle Gro soil.

Chilli and peppers work well in pots, and its pretty cheap too.

I planted quite a lot of seeds this year in varying size pots. In a roughly 35 litre trough I planted 6 seeds and got some decent sized plants and plenty of chilis. I planted 2 in a 15 litre and got decent sized plant and chillis.

I had some 5 litre pots with varying success. Plants weren't very big, and are very late to fruit. Although I think its too late in the year now.

I also used a few pint/half pint cups for what was left over. Each plant gave me 1 or 2 chilis.

Hit up your local independent and buy whatever their recommendation is. Foxfarm is alright, albeit pricey. EcoScraps isn't bad, and I think you can find that at big boxes. Don't let them push Baccto or Fertilome on you. If you can find an independent that sells Fafard brand, go with it. Best shit on the market.

Just remember that if you're paying less than $5.00/cu. ft. it's probably shit.

Marigolds
Violas
Pansies
Bachelor's Buttons
Snapdragons
Roses
Lavender
Carnations

They don't taste great, but they are great when used decoratively in things like salads.

Why you gotta drag the white man down? Unless you meant that as an analogy to penises, that is. That I'm a little more OK with.
Also, not so much. I grow herbs, but that's about it. Have some basil, rosemary, chives, and then there's some mint and dill that aren't doing so great ATM. Oregano didn't even sprout this year, and the marjoram died on me when I had to leave town for 4 days (newly sprouted, couldn't get enough water to it).
