How do you like your flapjacks, /ck/?

light and thin or disgustingly heavy and fat?

>> No.6824402

Don't really like cakey or thick, heavy pancakes. Gonna sound hokey, but I like the way my Mom made them. She was from England, and tought me. More like a crepe. Thin, not too much flour, eggs and milk. She would add a little sugar and flavor the batter with lemon, sometimes orange juice instead of vanilla. Not really that sweet, but you don't need syrup. Just butter.

In the middle. I like a very crispy exterior, with a fluffy interior (no thicker than 1/4-1/3 of an inch).

Realistically though, waffles are far superior.

This. My mom always used to make "pancakes" barely thicker than crepes and i still make them the same way, you can fill them with pretty much anything so there is no point in making regular pancakes. As for OP's pic, just make a fucking cake.

What's the point of this one when there's already a pancake thread? Asshole!

Asks about flapjacks but actually about pancakes? I'm confused

My dad made them this way, and they're the best. Super thin, with just a little chewiness. The blueberries in it are close to the grill so they get nice and cooked. With just a little real maple syrup these things are the shit

i dont like my pancakes too thick, or too thin. just an average thickness. the real decider for me is the crispy edges from the oil, i'd take 10 dollar pancakes rather than 3 big ones for all that extra edge

Not too cooked so they are still chewy is best.

This. Haven't been to IHOP in years, but they used to have "silver dollar" pancakes. Thin with crispy edges. Those with blueberry or raspberry syrup, and side of link sausage were the only things they had that I liked.

The crispy edge is truly the best part.

Light and thin, and just barely browned, and made with coconut milk instead of buttermilk or regular milk. Then topped with butter and honey.
