Most recent sandwich was for lunch yesterday. I suppose it's similar to a Cubano. Ham, cheese, onion, bacon, tomato, and mayo, on sourdough grilled in a clamshell grill. That's probably my favorite as well. As for going out to get a sub there aren't a whole lot of choices here, so I'd have to go with Firehouse BBQ brisket.

I made a turkey breast sandwich SANDWICH - not samwich you New York and Philadelphia retards.

If I ordered a felafel or a yiros and it came in pita bread I may actually refuse it. Literally the shittest bread ever to exist. Every culture except for Aboriginals and whomever came up with that bullshit have managed to create decent version of flat bread.

It's 5am, I was hungry and now I'm just feeling annoyed.

I like a microwaved ham and cheese on white bread with pickle. Can't usually be bothered to anything much more involved.

sall the same bro, you're just a picky douche that thinks he's some kind of food critic. It's bread, it's flat, and it is the best of a bad situation. Even when they actually are different no one cares, they'll still call it a pita.

>> No.6801717

>>6801709

You're wrong, I'll leave it at that. Enjoy looking down your nose at people that care about food and cooking on a food and cooking board.

>> No.6801722

>>6801717
You're wrong. I'm not looking down on you for that, I'm looking down on you for being so picky about what people call things. Sure there are many different types of flat bread, but they're all called pitas by everyone.

You seem like the same kind of person that if asked for a q-tip you'd turn your nose up and snort "I've no q-tips, merely cotton swabs, you filthy peasant." Same goes for Kleenex. Yeah we all know it's a god damn tissue, but everyone calls it a Kleenex.

>> No.6801735

>>6801722
>they're all called pitas by everyone.

No, they're not. Replace "everyone" with "casuals who don't know any better".

You wouldn't ask for "pita" at an Indian restaurant, would you?

Your Q-tip, etc, example isn't relevant because the prodcut is the same in that case. Nobody gives a crap about the terminology because Brand A's cotton swap is identical to a "genuine Q-Tip". On the other hand, Pita, Naan, and Focaccia (for example) are quite different, despite all of them being "flatbreads".

>>6801735
>casuals

So every board has hyper focused neckbeards then huh? They're called the overwhelming majority, not casuals. The fucking subway restaraunts in my area call their flat bread pita, it's listed on the menu that way. The authentic gyro place calls theirs pita as well, guess what? So does the Indian joint. So yes, no matter where I go in my area, if I want flat bread I'm ordering a pita. It's only a matter of time before the Mexican joints start calling tortillas pitas as well.

>Even when they actually are different no one cares, they'll still call it a pita.

2/3 are wrong and now you're arguing semantics because you know you're wrong and are SEETHING. Pic supplied to show you it's not just me who knows (You) are wrong. Enjoy living in your hometown until death.

Using words correctly is now "hyper focused"? Lol.

You know you're dealing with casuals when they can't even name the food that they sell accurately.

Not mad. Not my hometown. I never changed what I said. My point has always been that everyone calls it pita. Just because it's wrong for people to call it that doesn't mean they don't do it. And I really don't see where you're showing me that I changed my stance.

I live in a nice small town outside of the major city where I work. I guess they do flyover it a bit while coming in to land at the international airport though.

Just because you go to fast food shitholes that don't offer a choice of different types of cheese doesn't mean that everyone else is in that same sad pathetic boat.

It's not all the same. Different cheeses vary greatly in texture and flavor. If this isn't immediately clear to you then either your palate is broken (as in seriously: go see a doctor), or you have only been exposed to a terribly limited selection of industrially processed crap "cheese".

But good lord what a shit show of a thread. I was always interested in the HUEG US meat sandwiches so I gave it a go. I made pic related a while ago and it was awesome except for a couple of nauseous hours afterwards. A Rachel according to Wikipedia:

Dark rye, thousand island, swiss, coleslaw, corned beef X3, swiss, thousand island, dark rye. Buttered outside and toasted.

If I've found out anything today; it's called a sandwich, it is no different from any other sandwich, and only a hipster douche, wannabe food critic would suggest otherwise.
