Memes aside, what are your thoughts on Sriracha

>> No.6749932

Too sugary

>> No.6749938

>>6749929
It's good on asian foods and I like it mixed with mayo or sour cream in sauces and dips, but otherwise I don't use it for much else. I do make a lot of asian foods at home, so I go through a bottle about once every month or so. I also use a lot of other hot sauces too. I like using hot sauces (generally) for the cuisines they were made for, because that's where you can really taste their flavor benefits.

Hell yeah dude i mix it with some prison ramen and some habanero and chile...Shit is so good

I wish it came in a glass bottle, or I could find one.

I feel like I taste plastic more than anything.

I put it on ERRYTHANG!1!! xD

I really like the kinda garlicy flavor. I use it in chili and put it on my thai food. Its also good in cheap ramen.

you hella gay glass > plastic

Goes well with cottage cheese and sambal oelek.
Could be more acidic. Could taste more overall.

I'm not anti-meme or pro meme. I simply do not like that sauce. It's too basic and unimpressive. I'd rather have ground up cayenne or red peppers. I believe people who use that sauce forfeit taste for convenience.

sugar

>> No.6751650

I like it on burgers, mixed with ketchup to dip my fries in and on Asian foods.

>> No.6751660

Emphasis is on garlic instead of heat, its not all that at all

>> No.6752095

I like it, but that may have to do with the fact that it was something uncommon growing up. I grew up in LA and used to go out for Chinese food maybe once a month with my family, and I would try and challenge myself to use it on my food since it was really spicy for me at the time. Now it brings me memories, and I've learned to appreciate the sweetness and garlic, so I use it on sandwiches, noodles, rice, and mix it in my ketchup.
TL;DR Nostalgia makes me enjoy it

>> No.6752111

>>6749929
Meh. It's too sweet IMO; I usually like my hot sauces on the bitter and savory side so I go for that whatever that Korean chil-garlic paste is instead when I cook asian food.

I really can't understand why people like it; I've enjoyed spicy foods my entire life but even when I was a kid I thought it was crap.

it's good on pizza

Never tried it
It's just a hot sauce with a cool bottle
Why is this particular brand discussed so much?
Am i really missing out on anything?

>> No.6752448

I like cock sauce, but that's probably just because of the high sugar content.

>> No.6754268

I use it in tuna salad, egg salad and sloppy joes.

It tastes artificial to me and the heat is unpleasant, leaves a bad aftertaste.

Don't mind this stuff though.

are you supposed to refrigerate this after opening? cause i left it in my cabinet for a few months and checked it again and it turned into a really dark red color, not sure if that's good or bad.

My jar says "store in a cool, dry place" but I don't think my cupboards would suffice. I keep mine in the fridge to prolong shelf life.

it's in my kitchen
I use it a lot like how I used to use ketchup.
good for leftover pizza and cheap tendies/nuggies

I'm from England and I've just realised that what I've been consuming all along is something different. Mine is the goose brand.

This isn't the real Sriracha that you guys have is it?

>> No.6754667

>>6754522
The Flying Goose brand copied the bottle of Huy Fong version down to the cap. If they bring that shit here, I hope they have lawyers.

>> No.6754719

The hotness is alright but the flavour feels a bit off. Don't know how to explain it properly, since it has been a while since I tasted it.
It's not bad but not exactly good either.

>> No.6756007

I just like it on instant ramen and boiled eggs.

Wouldn't eat it when I intend to meet somebody. It's alright. Not bad, not good, just alright and very garlic-y

it has garlic, but it's garlic powder so it doesn't taste fresh. that might be it.

>> No.6756054

cant replace my tabasco

>> No.6756075

I only like it on hot dogs.

otherwise the flavor doesn't mesh well with most other foods.

>> No.6756084

It's the new A1, something you dump in your food to mask the fact that you can't cook.

>> No.6756089

It's a nice alternative to ketchup.

Yah youre missing out on the taste because youve never fucking tried it.

>> No.6756746

It's actually quite nice. Has a garlicy flavour to it.

>> No.6756753

Good for eggs and soup.

>> No.6756754

I actually really like it. You can actually taste the peppers in it unlike watery hot sauce like tabasco. I don't use any other hot sauce since i've tried it.

>> No.6756793

What others have said in this thread. It's good enough to stand on its own when used in cooking.

Things like this become memes because of novelty. It's kinda unfortunate how sheltered we can be when it comes to different sauces that we make a craze out of it, but I honestly believe that's the reason.

>> No.6757515

I'm okay with it, I'm the only guy that regularly uses hot sauces in my family. If it's at a restaurant the sells asian food, I might put it in, but I've seen it in some diners which confuses me a bit.

Meme aside, I don't think it's that bad. I only usually put it on eggs or pizza though. If I'm making a dipping sauce for chicken like mayo and a hot sauce, I prefer chipotle Cholula or whatever the fuck it's called. But I think it's pretty good on eggs and pizza.

You should try some Sambal Oelek. It is just chilis, no garlic. It has a very clean and pure flavor compared to Sriracha and Chili Garlic sauce. Made by the same people. I used to use Sriracha but now I use this stuff instead.

I find that sambal oelek is better as an ingredient than as a straight condiment. I love mixing it with mayo or hummus.
