A pressure cooker is a particular implement that is really only necessary for home canning. A slow cooker is a general-purpose workhorse that most people can use very often for a wide variety of dishes.

If you're going to be trying to cook tripe in under an hour, I'd go with a pressure cooker. If you're more of a stew, soup, chili, pulled pork, oatmeal and pot roast kind of guy, slow cooker.

Slow cooker, toss in meat and veggies in the morning, delicious food for the evening.
My crockpot and rice maker got me through college.

Pressure cooker. You won't have time to slow cook anything if you're actually studying.

The point of the slow cooker is that you don't have to monitor it

You have no idea how a slow cooker works, do you?

You put shit in it and leave.

How is that edgy? I just tried to give a sample stupid question.

Both are completely different appliances that fulfill different objectives. So which is better is just a matter of opinion and convenience as >>6732527 pointed out.

I have both and they're both great. I think slow cooker would suit a busy lifestyle better and its better for really tough cuts like lamb shanks and stuff. Slow cooker is good for when you want to get drunk too, prep the food while sober, get drunk, go out come home to a hot meal.

I think the food that comes out of a pressure cooker does taste a little better though. With a stove top pressure cooker you can brown meats and deglase then chuck on the lid and stew it all in one pot, the shorter cooking time makes veggies seem a bit better tasting than a slow cooker.

I prefer slow cookers cause you don't have to monitor them and don't risk severe burns when the pressure cooker fails. Great for a student tbh

What utter bullshit. If a pressure cooker is only good for home canning a slow cooker is good for nothing.

A pressure cooker makes rice in 5-8 minutes, makes beans in 20 instead of 2 hours, boils potatoes in minutes(2 minutes if you chop em up a bit), makes making stock easy and more than I can list here. One of the best things is you can fry stuff in the cooker before sealing it.

This video lists its uses better than me. Its the kitchen equipment I use the most after my frying pan.
