I am actually going to buy myself a bottle of bunnahabhain 12 sometime soon, after I finish the bottle of bourbon I have been drinking. What do you think of it?

Pic related is what I am finishing now. It was a little expensive for what I pay for bourbon ($47) but it has made me appreciate it more, and I intend to think better of and buy better bourbon in the future now.

The one I had was from a few years back. My friend went crazy when they sold out once and ordered multiple bottles as soon as they were available again. Good thing, because they've almost doubled in price. So my information might be a bit dated.
Rick number, barrel number, flask number and bottling date are all written on the bottle in gold pen.

I think it's a fucking fantastic Whiskey. Very pronounced, complex and lasting taste; warm, spicy, a bit fruity and slightly sweet.

The 51.5 Vol% aren't really for me, though - I kept choking on the alcohol fumes when I swished it around in my mouth. But that's nothing a few drops of water can't fix.

zacapa is basically a liqueur with all the sugar they add, and the solera method means very very little of it has significant age to it. as long as you look at it as a younger rum with a flavored character, it's good. if you think of it as an example of what good aged rum tastes like, you're being played, and you'll miss out on all the good stuff

if you like sipping brown stuff and rums, and you have a Total Wine around you, go grab some Seale's 10 year old and see how you like it; it's a steal at 20 dollars. If you don't dig it, get El Dorado 15 and up and just enjoy drinking sweet stuff and fuck the haters.

Madeira and tawny Port are both lovely and you don't get quite the same very fruity sweetness you get from red Ports. More along the lines of a dried fruit and nuttiness. Similar, if distinct, wines given they both have that deliberately oxidized character. Good Sherry can be a bitch to find depending on where you are. Less so in Europe but in the USA at least in my experience most stores don't stock anything but the cheapest Sherry which is barely above the cooking variety.

I poured a shot of Lagavulin into chili con carne once. You could taste it in every bite and It was fucking delicious.

Go be poor and niggardly somewhere else.

but what if your friends put ice in it? that ruins the dram. I don't have any friends regardless; human contact is for weak sheeple and I am no sheeple.

anyway if it's not islay it's not even good. you probably don't know the difference between whisky and whiskey.

Yeah I generally like to pour a dram of two malts at a time to get a reference point against a familiar malt.

I'm a big fan of blantons personally, I've never seen the green label where I live, is that their rye? Avoid this Hudson shit by the way, it's sincerely some of the most disappointing whiskey I've ever tasted, $54 for a 375ml and I wouldn't use this shit to sterilize a wound, ended up letting my brother kill the bottle I hated it so much.

Haha a blend nestled in glorious single malts, and I'll have you know since you'll probably never taste a $250 bottle that it's was a phenomenal dram. Why don't you post a bit of your stuff?
