What is stopping KFC from using the old recipe that wasn't greasy and salty?

Carl's Jr, In-N-Out, Five Guys take longer than most fast food places and they still get plenty of customers.

Unless KFC is targeted at poverty areas with high black population, then I don't see why KFC can't just do the old recipe.

This. I worked at Mcdonalds for 4 1/2 years but loved to frequent In-n-out. Seeing people understand the concept of waiting for good food was pretty interesting.

I bet if tested the IQ's of Mcdonalds customers would be much lower.

I always thought it was funny when people complained about cold old food yet got angry if they didn't receive it in 3 minutes or less

Corporate headquarters that want maximum profit with least outflow of capital.
It's easier to make a cheap product that gets it's flavor from grease and salt than to make a quality product that gets it's flavor from quality ingredients. That's fast food in a nutshell, dude. AND, I'm including the so called "fast casual" places in that statement as well.

Really this, but also the market in the states for fastfood is extremely price focused.

I lived in Switzerland for a while where an average McDonalds meal would cost about 10 euros. When they started introducing value menu items, people wouldn't buy them out of the general suspicion.
