Their chicken sausage is really good. Most stuff is pretty expensive, I wouldn't buy ingredients there, just premade stuff. The caramel iced onion dip is also fantastic.

The prices are actually really good there. It's just that everything is shitty individually wrapped meme food.

But then there's cookie butter....

Caramel iced? Caramelized. Fucking autocorrect.

I bristle every time I walk into a Trader Joe's because of (1) the constant in-aisle re-stocking by the irritatingly chirpy staff who smile at you as you navigate your way past them seemingly oblivious to the fact that they are in the way (2) the fact that they sell the same store-brand crap that ConAgra produces for other stores, but somehow manage to pull it off with their fake easy-tiki style (3) It's a privately held foreign company owned by the same secretive german siblings who own Aldi (if that matters to you).

Their goat cheeses with berries and shit are good. The pre-made meals are often pretty delicious and savory, if you're into that sort of thing. Their macarons are generally great, the pumpkin ones they have in the fall are especially good if you plan on visiting in the future.

I never thought it was terribly expensive, though I wouldn't go there for regular grocery shopping, I only go there when I want specialty snacks.

I do literally all my grocery shopping there. But I'm a pretty sad, lonely person.

Their burritos are pretty good, pretty much anything in the frozen aisle is gonna be tasty, those french tarts or whatever are divine. I try to get a new frozen item every week to try it out. Some things are hit and miss to be fair. Great selection of nuts.

Oh yeah, definitely get the chili lime cashews. Literally the best item TJs has.

TJ's is great for frozen stuff and snacks. They have a decent poutine for $2 and stuff like orange chicken, bao, sweet potato chips, chocolate covered peanut-butter pretzels... mmm

>> No.6450482

The one near me is pretty close to a lot of grocery stores, so it might just be because of that, however they have great prices for produce there.

>> No.6450495

Trader Joes is the ultimate place for people who cant cook since it has a variety of frozen meals that don't have the generic/cheap/unhealthy look of grocery store frozen food. For those who can cook, it is the ultimate snack store. I just bought the dark chocolate peanut butter cups, tub of mini choc chip cookies, and meringues. god i hate that place.

Trader joes is actually really good for a lot of "ethnic" ingredients. They have great kefir and Iranian style yogurt. Its great for living in an area without any other source for the stuff. Good greens too, always changing with whats in season. I got a really good consistent price on dandelion greens a few months ago. Stew for days nigga.

If you can find the cat cookies those are good.

I dont know if they still carry it but the thai tuna curry is good. It comes in vacuum sealed pouches and even though it stinks its an amazing lunch if you serve it over ramen.

They've got a nice enough selection of cheeses there. Not like going to a high-priced specialty store, but there's a lot to choose from instead of a rack dedicated to 30 different brands of medium sharp cheddar. Decent sausages too. If the one you're on your way to stocks liqour, they won't have an overwhelmingly large selection, but the prices on what they do carry will be damn near unbeatable.

Only place around where I can get decent feta. Sheep milk and in brine. The real deal.

TFW no trader joes only very basic grocers.

Hippest one is krogers

>> No.6456468

Our town kept asking for a trader joes but instead got some independent grocer to turn an old office depot into a something like trader joes.

I've never been to another whole foods/TJs style grocer... but the pricing at this place is fucking wacko. Some things are a lot cheaper than what you can get them for at regular grocers (fresh chicken, for some reasons), and others ask for batshit insanely high prices (a jar of regular-ass pickles that costs $9 fucking dollars). Then there's this wacko health section that sells BS natural remedies and beard cremes.

I still go there often because they sell shit I love that I can't find anywhere else.... like certain cheeses, beers, cheap produce, and gummy sharks.
