Why is Jameson so popular? Is it just the marketing, or is it really that good for the price?

>> No.6440547

>>6440542
Marketing. Just get Bushmills or 2 Gingers for the same quality at a fraction of the price.

Where the fuck do you live, nigga? Bushmills is two times more expensive than Jameson in my country.

Usually the most iconic brands of a type of liquor are over priced for the quality. Just take Jack Daniels for example. It's ubiquitous as the example of American whiskey but it's not very good and it's like $20 a bottle. You can get wild turkey which is much better for that price.

I live in the US. A 750 of Bushmills is 17 or 18$

>> No.6440577

>>6440570
Yeah man, Bushmills is in my country considered more "premium" stuff, usually around $35, and hard to get.

Really? How much is Jameson?

>> No.6440597

It's only $20 here and it's kind of sweet, makes sense. I once got a flight of their stuff (gold, 12 year, 18 year, black, vintage) and they were all tasty. The gold was my favorite.

>> No.6440598

Jameson is popular because it's available.
There are better Irish whiskies IMHO, but you can pick up Jimmy at the corner drug store.
I prefer Kilbeggan, but lately it's more expensive than Jameson.

Georgia resident....
Bushmills cost a few dollars more than Jameson. I prefer Bushmills, but some stores don't carry it so Jameson is just fine. Both of them are quality whiskeys worthy of drinking neat.

Jameson is $16-20.

For the money, it's worth plenty of shits.
How much did that bottle of Speyburn cost?
I typically prefer Single Malts, ie. Highland Park 12, but you can't beat a nice Irish whiskey like Jameson or Bushmill for the money.
And besides that, nigger, Scotch is whisky, not whiskey

Why not anymore? Move to the more expensive stuff?

nah, i just kinda "whatevered" out of alcohol a few years ago. might pick it back up again if i find some cats worth drinking with but for now i'm just out.

Speyburn is between $20 and $30, so not that much.

I haven't bought a bottle of liquor that cost less in a long time, it is a pretty good price compared to most 10 or 12 year scotch costing upwards of $60 or even $70 nowadays.

You do realize liquor costs are different between states and even stores? It's all about rate of consumption and how big a deal the distributors in each state can get. Jameson in CO is around $25 for a 750, unless it's on sale. Prices fluctuate all the time.

>> No.6441345

you can drink a liter of it and not get a hangover

>> No.6441401

I enjoy Jameson. Select Reserve is the shit.

In Washington a bottle would cost $40. Here in Texas its like $25-30. About the only thing Texas has going for it is cheap(er) alcohol. Shit was so expensive in Washington i started drinking 151 to save money.

Anyone tried Redbreast? Im thinking of buying myself a bottle of their cask strength 12 year for my birthday.

I'm a big redbreast fan. It's not a particularly special or unique flavor, but I prefer it to Jameson. It's just a bit smoother and the flavor lingers a bit better.

>> No.6442960

It is pretty good for the price. It's made in such mass quantities that not every bottle is as good as some, but once in a while I get one that really just clicks, and tastes like more expensive whiskey.

At any rate, there's nothing really bad about it, and the price is right.

>>6440547
If the larger number is on the top of the line, then you're correct. Also Black Bush > Bushmills Original

My go-to Irish whiskies are Jameson (for price) and Knappogue Castle (for taste). I enjoy the pricier stuff from time to time, but if I'm paying single malt Scotch prices, I'd rather buy single malt Scotch whisky.

>> No.6443307

Jameson is alright. Not something you'd buy to sip and enjoy but it's great for getting wasted, because it's so smooth and easy to drink. There's not much flavour to it but there's nothing about it that tastes bad. It's just kinda bland which is great if you just want to get drunk and not pay too much, but you don't want something that tastes like shit.

I agree. kinda like Inner house baileys, or buckeye if ya didn't know better. I do. knew is not too bad. it;s rather that than 14 teen year, hundred buck a bottle pinch. takes one to know one. if not perfect, join the club. Bucharest abbey. and 24 tween ... seriously, been shot down often, it's pretty tough. as for the Saudi prince that awarded bentlys to 100 pilots, some are damn sure airmen (or women) and some try. never ubnderestimate foes. I think a guy named custer did that. still,, st. they are wise, the few. and give you a run for your money. are you entertained yet? I like bucky or buck-fast abbey. If never been, you should go..
