i posted this on /them/ because I thought they'd have some insight, but they didn't seem to be interested. I'm going on an 'adventure'. Basically we'll be hiking in the mountains, questing for something unknown. Nothing fancy.

The best kind of food you read about heroes taking on quests is always some variation of bread, cheese, and apples (and ale or wine).

What are the best breads, cheeses, apples, and ales for adventuring? And what other foods should we take?

Wait if you are going backpacking you should carry meals that are light. So no liquids because those are heavy as shit besides your water. So stuff like parmesan or other aged cheeses will keep and is yummy and i feel like bread would kind of be a waste of space for backpacking. Or is this just some faggy picnic shit?

We're just nerds, alright? Not nerdy enough to actually LARP but nerdy enough to get excited about shit like this. Bread, cheese, apples: what's best for taking on a hike?

You stupid fuck...

Take some granola. Take water or tea. Take some small can fruit or make sure you fresh fruit isn't likely to get fucked/squished easily. Make your own bread and bring that, or buy some french baguettes at a bakery and make sure they're cut in half or quarters and keep them in a bag.

If you really want to drink on the trip make someone the liquor bitch and load their pack with all the wine and beer and whatever else (if you really want, get mead, honey wine).

Meat is also an option, you could get a roast beef and cut it in thick steaks for each other to beat off onto; make sure you keep it cold or atleast make sure its the firs thing you eat about an hour or two into the trip.

Happy now?

Are you both gay? Why not just go suck each other off right now and stop posting. Jesus Christ what a shit thread. I hope you both fall off the mountain and land on iron spikes.

Pies, pasties, sausage rolls and scotch eggs are better while still in keeping with the fantasy theme you are going for.

While ale tastes better, bring spirits or at least wine to cut down on weight.

sounds like you're just mad

>>6341885
thanks bro. not sure about scotch eggs though. also, it'll be unlikely we'll be taking any alcohol anyway, but that's something that gets mentioned most in fantasy stories.

Sub out mushrooms with maybe edam or something who knows. Take out some mead, or honey wine i suppose, and enjoy your day.

whoa, that looks super tasty! thanks!

Sharp cheddar is good, leave in the wrapper, slide it in and out never touching the cheese with your hands. Clean your knife before cutting it. If you keep it in a Ziploc and follow those guidelines it will last at least a week in all but the hottest areas.

DO NOT BRING LIQUID. It is very heavy.

Have you ever been backpacking?

You need a reverse osmosis pump or iodine to treat water found on the trail.
