Why aren't munchy boxes a huge thing in the U.S.? They seem like the PERFECT marriage. Those things would be like crack to us.

Generally immigration brings those sorts of food fads. So until the scots start immigrating you probably won't see a lot of it out of there homeland.

>> No.6279752

I'm guessing because most places here don't additionally make kebab, chicken tikka, or a solid 40% of this stuff on a regular basis in their stores. It's just not culturally relevant. It wouldn't sell enough on its own, so it would end up thrown out at the end of the day.

Plus, it's more profitable for them to sell anything like this ala carte, as they already charge, like, $2 for fries.

I could see it having some success in NY or other dense cities, but out west, this is something people aren't going to stop in and pick up in most cases.

I don't know why we'd need immigration to bring that sort of thing. It's just like a big appetizer platter in a pizza box. Eventually some sort of chain (I don't know if there are any fast food chains that make french fries and onion rings, but I digress) will come out with it and it will catch on.

Nowadays we have the internet. If an immigrant can come into our country and be the first to start munchie boxes over here, to me that's a failure on our part and a sign we dropped the ball on something we could've done ourselves.

I think we'd fuck up when it comes to cost though. A lot of junk food in other nations are cheaper than ours. We pride ourselves on being the top when it comes to junk food, but we're really the top when it comes to mass produced junk food.

1) Most Americans like salad with their pizza, not potato french fries. At most any pizza joint will have chicken wings, but they aren't deep fried, but kind of baked from frozen pre-baked kind of bags.
2) Fat content? Double and triple carb? Americans actually pay a little attention to food groups, and pizza is a rare exception to the diet. Any adult with money isn't getting it from a chain, but some local place doing it better. Fast food pizza tends to have low quality cheese, as well. It's avoided unless you want to save $1.
3) Yea, kebabs are maybe only popular in some major cities with muslim density. I adore a lebanese restaurant, or a greek gyro (pork) as much as the next person, but my friends do not. These places are usually only with patrons who are well traveled, or else it's that ethnic group that dines there.

Where exactly is a munchy box a thing?
Looks like a disgusting, random assembly of greasy fast food. Each of which is probably not even very well done.

Why the hell would you get a tiny pizza, french fries that are probably steamed by the hot pizza while being transported in the box and whatnot all together instead of just one thing done well? And when you have a desire for a strange combo like that -- why the hell would it be a good idea to stuff it all together in a single box?

I would never ever order that shit. I wouldn't even take it for free.
