Brewing coffee now, a nice dark roast to be enjoyed black, just as I like it.

I generally wake up around noon with just enough time for a cup or two before heading out to work.
I've never been a breakfast person, and i've never understood how people can eat so fucking early in the morning.

I made a batch of buttermilk biscuits (Cook's Illustrated circa 2004, "Mile-High Buttermilk Biscuits") and heated up some sausage gravy and made a nine-egg omelet. Delicious. Yeah, but let's face it, it's not exactly a fun time. US southerner here. Most days it's just leftovers of whatever I had for dinner. This morning was turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and black coffee.

On my days off when I want a more traditional breakfast I'll make some fried eggs (sunny side up), fried potatoes (with ketchup), spicy sausage, buttermilk biscuits, and black coffee. Extra black. I want my coffee so black that light can't escape the innards of my mug.

I'm vegetarian (like one of two here) so for lunch I eat steamed tofu and vegetable dumplings (they are called buuz, the other dish is khuushuur), and for dinner I usually make a soup, stew, or chili over rice. Sometimes when my girlfriend is here we make nice things, though, like pad thai, baked mac and cheese, etc.

People here have way too much meat and dairy, though.
