dunno where you live or where you are going but teppanyaki can be wonderful and also fun. and even if you go to average to shit tier benihana types of places no they will not set you on fire, they know what they are doing in safety at least.

It depends what kind of quality the place is. You can usually get a meal course to eat which will have rice with eggs and vegetables in it then you can get sides like salads with some grill meat on it or an eggroll, usually there is steaks and other meat to pick for the main course. There is usually toppings or sautees like a garlic steak and what not. When it is grilled right in front of you you can see the quality.
