ITT: Hot sauce

I've been drinking this shit from the bottle recently

>> No.6258255

(Not implying that it's particularly hot, I just really like the flavour)

Got some of these from Mexico. They are really fucking good. I also have a bottle of some weird shit from Alaska that is habanero/carrots/lime juice. It's weird. Also have some shit that retardedly hot that I got as gifts that I can't even eat. A ghost pepper sauce and something called "Da Bomb". They are just hot for the sake of heat, no flavour.

I ate a ghost pepper once, one little bite at a time

See your doctor. You probably have some sort of deficiency

What do you mean?

I have been putting tabasco on my eggs recently. Holy shit, where was this like 10 years ago

If you're feeling compelled to chug something like tobasco straight from the bottle, you may have some kind of vitamin deficiency your body is trying to tell you about it. This is the same thing that leads to pregnant women eating things like match heads and dirt

I had four poached eggs with salt, pepper, and a shitload of tabasco today. It was pretty good except I forgot to dry the eggs before putting them on the plate, so I ended up with a mixture of water, tabasco and yolk at the end.

I just like the taste

You start by buying some that look interesting and seeing what you like. The fuck is wrong with you people, it's not like you're buying a car here. Do you really need validation and advice from random strangers to go out and spend a few bucks on condiments?

I had 2 sunny side up eggs and that yolk+tabasco at the end...Mopped it up with some toast, it was like sex in my mouth

I would've had toast but I'm doing keto

Try this stuff. Pretty damn good.

I'm surprised I don't see more threads about making your own hot sauce. It's pretty simple and like most things, it's hard to go back to store bought sauces once you've had some practice making them yourself.

Pic related is my go-to hot sauce brand, not too hot and tastes damn good. The one I don't really care for, and isn't pictured, is the Black Label.

Tobasco or Cholula are my go-to hot sauces for breakfast, they do something godly to eggs.

I've started making my own hot sauces recently. I made a cayenne hot sauce and a habanero lime hot sauce, the latter is my favorite.

>> No.6258431

That is true. It's SUPER easy to make hot sauces as long as you really only want habanero or below levels of heat. But some hot sauces, like Tabasco, you simply can't make yourself because you can't get that particular pepper. I mean you can get something very similar but not the same.

Either way, hot sauce is definitely maybe a 2/10 on the difficulty scale to make.

There are surely a lot of good homemade sauces one could make. But if you want the exact flavor of a particular commercial sauce, then only buying that product will suffice. Copycat recipes always, always, always fall short in one way or another.

Plus, fuck making my own sauces.

>> No.6258469

I use franks and cholula
Cholula's not that hot but it's good sauce

They also age tobasco in old whiskey barrels for three years or so for a specific flavor, I think they're alone in that process
