well for fish I just get stuff like canned tuna, sardines and canned salmon- love salmon- just drizzled the chunks with a little miso, soy and sugar(optional) dressing and put in a toaster over at about 400 F for 10 minutes- it comes out delish

/fit/ can point you in the right direction, but I'd recommend at least looking into a trainer to start with if you're brand new to weight training--or if you're just looking to get huge. My guy used to train at the Olympic Training Center, so I really hit the jackpot with him. Doubly so because he really brings a holistic approach to training. Not just deadlifting with the trap bar and maxing out all the time. Pilates is pretty great for core.

And before that (when I was in school most recently), my partner was a former college power lifter and we got on very well. I suppose it depends on how amped up you can get doing psycho shit with a buddy.

But, like I said, it's a real pain in the butt trying to balance my desires to pursue /ck/ interests with the maintenance for the fitness stuff. I have an entire counter covered with Beverly bottles!

Just do what's gonna make you happy man and make sure to exercise regularly. Plenty of ways to be fit without lifting.

This annoys me. Sure, there is no such thing medically, or physically, but if you eat less and exercise more, eventually you're going to lose weight. First of, losing fat will make you look more muscular for obvious reasons. Second, if you eat at a low deficit you probably are going to overeat every now and again slowly building a little muscle.

I'm not good at cooking, but my main source of being fat was snacking on stuff. Not even typical shitty snacks like potato crisps, but nuts, cheese and bread. I started eating less (side-effect of meds I'm on) and lost more and more weight. I should probably start doing sports to stay healthy, but to lose weight adjusting your diet is the easiest way if you're a snacker like me.

I cook most of my meals other than lunches at work. Although I do eat a lot of canned food too.

Was 280 when I lived with my mom. She's a really good cook and doesn't give a fuck about calories or health or any of that. I got down to 175 for a little while in my early 20's. I prefer to be about 200-210. Any lighter than that and I lose too much strength/muscle.

Pro Tip: Once you're really fat you'll always be kind of fat even if you lose insane amounts of weight and hit the gym 5 times a week for years and years. So you have to choose between being light and much weaker than other guys at that weight or heavier/bigger and reasonably strong.

Yea, I can do more pull ups and chin ups at 220 right now than I could at 175 lbs. I got into a scrap with a dude when I was 175 and I wasn't able to overpower him like I thought I could and would be able to at my current weight. I feel like I'd be much better in a fight at 220 than at 170. That matters more to me than fitting some skinny jeans hipster fashion image of what a man should look like.

I'm in the gym 4 days a week doing dead lifts, power cleans, bench press, etc. I also swim, hike (15+ miles in the alps at a go), box, jog, bike etc. When I go on vacation it's basically like a fat camp cuz I'm doing so much walking, hiking, biking, kayaking. I usually lose 15 pounds on a 10 day vacation. I've spent thousands of hours in the gym for 15 years and I'm still a fat guy.

Just had a big cardio vascular medical work up and the doctor says I have clean arteries, good chemical/nutrients, blood pressure, cholesterol etc. Only thing they flagged was borderline high creatine serum in the blood which is probably from working out and taking post workout supplements with creatine.

tl;dr - it's better to be big and strong and kinda fat than small and weak and still kinda fat.
