So, apparently you can buy Surge on Amazon because Coca-Cola recognized a demand to bring it back. This is the first time it has been available in 12 years.

Is this stuff really as good as people hype it up to be? Or are they just ejaculating about it because it's a 90's relic and everyone needs to justify their existence as a '90's kid'?

I've had Surge before but I was pretty young and it was a long time ago. I'm 22 now.

Have you had it recently? Is it just a glorified Mountain Dew?
Also 90's food thread.

>If they stopped selling it, it is probably shit...

Yeah, no, there's lots of stuff that's been discontinued and was demonstrably awesome, just mainstream shit-palates couldn't handle it.

Anyway, I was in my hometown over the holidays and at the mall there's a video game store that had several 16 oz cans of Surge in a little fridge, alongside Bawls and energy drinks. I bought a can for $2.49 - yeah, markup, but I wanted to see if it was as I remembered.

It was. Sweet, tart, and delicious, just like it used to be. As far as I can tell they didn't change a thing, which is kind of a miracle. I assume the store got it off Amazon.

If you want to be nostalgic for 90s food, just go to whatever passes for a fancy restaurant in flyover land. You can have all the flourless molten chocolate cake, mango salsa, "exotic" flavors of creme brulee, mojitos as an exotic new novelty, and butter bomb chardonnays you could ever want.

It was a terrible idea anyway. IIRC, it didn't last long at all.

They stopped selling Monster Heavy Metal, and that drink was glorious. It simply isn't fair.

>butter bomb chardonnays
The fuck does that mean?

Also, I was born in '84, but holy shit you're such a grandpa.

Seriously, my actual grandpa was more accepting of the times changing than you are.

>they're called little hugs or some shit
I can confirm Little Hugs. The amazing thing is they also have less sugar (if I remember correctly, 75% less) than a same-sized juice box, which is great for a diabetic like me when I don't want something carbonated.

My local Vons has French Toast Crunch now, in case anyone else has been waiting to add it to their grocery lists.

Berry Kix are still around actually, they have them at Wal-Mart and maybe a few other places.

All Kix are shit though, not only are they tasteless cornballs for kids who aren't allowed sugared cereals but they're actually dangerous. They're so light that, when eaten dry, they get accidentally sucked into your mouth and hit the back of your throat like little yellow bb's before going straight down your wind pipe as you gasp from the pain. You might as well feed your kids with an air soft rifle.

Man, now I want to try Vault again.

I can still get those in the specialty soda section at my Fred Meyer. They also used to sell Green River at a '50s themed restaurant that used to live at my local mall. I miss you, Mr. Bill's.
