Has anyone here tried the Carolina Reaper? If so, how was it?

>> No.6102632

i'd never.

eating a whole fresh/raw jalapeno is agonizing enough for me.

and before someone calls me pussy, have you eaten a fresh jalapeno? they're 15x hotter than a cooked/pickled/jarred one.

It's hot as hell. I have some infused in a bottle of vodka and I've eaten the raw peppers multiple times. It's like being peppersprayed in the mouth.

Unless you're a masochist, a hat-tipper with a penchant for spice, or a fellow youtuber, stay far away.

Jalapeños vary widely in heat. Most of the time, they're pretty mild. When you get a hot one, they're fucking nuclear. The hottest fresh pepper I've had is a standard habanero, and the hottest jalapeños seem to be almost as hot.
>go to Norm's with family
>order fried jalapeño with my meal
>I think "It's just a jalapeño, how hot could it be?"
>Salt and pepper the bastard and take a big bite
>eat the rest of my food on the verge of tears
It was pretty damn tasty with my hot beef sandwich, though.

I haven't seen many hot Jalepeno's lately.
Bought a pack of about a dozen fresh ones and was eating them raw and when I got down to 2 or three left I got a hot one. That was a surprise.
I prefer cayenne for the flavor, and those vary a lot too, most are 30,000 heat units but Carolina Cayenne is more like 100,000 or more. All hotter than Jalepenos

It's always weird when you get one of the hot ones, every once and a while I get niggered from a random taco truck. Normally I have no problem just eating the entire jalapeno like taking a bite that is from the tip to the stem and chewing it. But every once and a while it's so hot I need to buy a jario or what ever that mexican soda is. Man fuck you randomly hot jalapenos.
Also I had some habanero "salsa" a few days ago, those niggers at the mexican food place literally just ground some habanero peppers and called it a day.
Considerably hotter than I expected.

The taste is really nice, but very hot, which is generally why I don't buy this stuff... I do get sick of these morons with the "ghost" crap from india.

It's funny seeing these indians push their inferior "ghost" crap with marketing morons.

I can tell you from experience that the trinidad scorpion actually did cause intense, violent pains in my stomach during digestion. The pain wasn't until several hours after I ate them. Dry heaved a few times. The shitting wasn't as bad as some other shits I've had with just ghost peppers. I'm not a YouTube fig so I'm not sure how quickly the people you're describing react after eating the reaper, but if it's instant (stomach, not mouth/head pain) it's bullshit.

I ate a Carolina reaper and I actually didn't think it was THAT hot. I'm kind of a spice fan, but I don't do extreme heat often. Some of my friends were crying and coughing, but I hardly even teared up. The peak was only at like 2 minutes, and then the heat began to wear down.

However, the following morning I had a HELLISH stomach pain, which I consider among the most I've ever suffered. It lasted for hours, and I shambles downstairs to ask my roommate for some pain pills.
