Gimmicky cookware thread.

Have you guys ever bought infomercial cooking equipment like the Bacon Wave? Did it work as advertised?

The only thing I ordered after seeing it on an infomercial was the Magic Bullet. It's alright, but it doesn't work as well as I imagined it would.

I got one of these things for $1 at a thrift store.
It's a whisk, flipper, and it has a latch that opens up and it turns into tongs. Not bad. The plastic handle is flimsy but I don't see it breaking anytime soon.

I bought an onion holder. It's one of those cheap products where the packaging has just plain card on the back (no text or anything).

Used it once, washed it and now it sits in a drawer next to the nutmeg grater, bottle brushes, scouring pads and the rubber ball device that tells you when your soft boiled eggs are done.

I don't like bacon but my parents use one of these bacon trays for the microwave and it works fairly well.

the magic bullet is also pretty good all things considered, I mean it gets its job done, but its motor is pretty damn weak and having to wait between 15 second blends was annoying. I would call it a good purchase though if you're one of those weirdos that only ever uses a blender for smoothies

I found one for $20 or so at a thrift store when I was in high school and bought it. Worked alright, but if you used the listed times it came with (5 minutes a pound for chicken or whatever, they were written on the casing near the timer) everything would always come out underdone.
I dropped the door on it a half dozen times because it comes off way too easy.
You also have to grease where the rotisserie meets the casing or it makes the loudest, most awful squeaking.
The chicken was awesome, but if I wanted to buy another rotisserie I'd just end up getting a motor unit for my outdoor grill.

Got one of these. The most baffling thing about it is just how fucking heavy the pan is. Picture carrying 5 frying pans of the same size, its at least that.

Its alright though. Kind of cool if you get good at it just because you can inject them with stuff, but they're kind of a hassle to turn and make and when pancakes are like the easiest food in the first place you feel like a moron to have to learn how to do it in some complex fashion.

It grinds stuff up. The gimmick is that its easier than a mortal and pestle. He basically made a ball mill, just this one has only one ball instead of lots. Ball mills are a thing where you put what you want pulverized into a container with hard balls/cylinders, then you set it on a set of rollers to rotate, the balls tumble and crush your stuff.
