Does anyone else put their ramen in the fridge after cooking it to cool it down to eatable temperature faster?

>> No.6072775

Enjoy lowering the temperature of your fridge which ends up spoiling the rest of the stuff in there.

If you're eating ramen chances are there is nothing in your fridge other than condiments.

this implies there's sufficient thermal mass of said food or insufficient cooling potential or insufficient thermal mass inside the fridge

I stir in a large ice cube before eating.

No, I used to put ice cubes in it, but now I drain the water, and use butter instead.

What sort of heaven do you live in that you can boil water in 2 minutes?

C-can i live there?

Takes less than 30 seconds to boil enough water in an electric kettle and 2 minutes to cook the noodles.

This stuff is the very last resort for anyone who is hungry. And it's only ever considered if food delivery places are closed.

Oh I see. He's talking about a little electric teapot.

For a second I thought he was suggesting an electric range could boil a couple quarts of water and cook noodles in less than two minutes.

It's not hard.

>boil water in electric kettle
>pour boiled water into pot with noodles
>add seasoning
>stir for two minutes
>eat

Even a frog could do it.

Americans usually do not own electric kettles. They are available, but most people just microwave a safe vessel, or put water on the stove. Obsessive coffee drinkers usually have their own dedicated machines that are similar to kettles.

My parents used to make me ramen soup when I was sick. and put an ice cube in it so it would cool faster.

Ok ok, I used `ramen` as the example to try and get some controversy and replies

But seriously guys, for _ANY_ food you cook that's too hot to consume immediately or within a few minutes.

Put that shit in the fucking fridge (or freezer!)

Microwaving water is 4 times less efficient than a kettle. If you're paying $0.10/kWh a kettle pays for itself in only a few uses.

It's not ice cream if you keep it in the fridge.

Seriously though, keep your fridges full, bottles of things you want to drink cold are good for this. They don't suffer from a little temporary warmth nearby, and they do a much better job at retaining their chill than empty air.
