ITT: The best pizza you've ever tasted.

Donato's pepperoni.

Are you a Midwesterner? I grew up in Ohio, eating Donato's once a month. It's fucking great. Beats the absolute FUCK out of major chains. Massey's in central Ohio is also amazing. Maybe better than Donato's.
I live in Los Angeles now and while there is some VERY good pizza out here I always make a point of going back to Ohio once a year and getting Donato's and Massey's. Sometimes I'll fly in for an extended weekend and never bother to tell my family I'm in town...

The 'Pepperoni Zinger' at Donato's is a must-have BTW.

I had some pizza down the street from the pope's palace. Was really good. I've had probably more 'authentic' flavored pizzas elsewhere in italy, but that one in vc was probably the best tasting.

Pestino's is a place near me that closed a few years ago for a reason I don't care to know, what if it was health related?

they had a Buffalo Chicken Pizza that was my favorite ever. I asked them, it's mozzarella and provolone cheese, a "house" hot sauce which means it's just some store hot sauce mixed with butter.
topped with pieces of grilled chicken

This local pizza place where I used to live. Gooey's Pizza.

Fucking amazing. I mean I know it's probably one of the unhealthiest things I've ever eaten, but it's delicious.

PIZZA TALK.

I've had a lot of pizza. We all have, right? All the typical chains (varies by location though). Local joints here and there, which vary more-so. Gas station. Carnival. Shopping mall. Airport. Both Chicago and NY types. Homemade by myself, and an ex gf's mom's, which is an experienced restaurant cook in the mountains of northern Italy, and she taught me. Had tourist trap pizza on the coast of Liguria too. Small-time bakery pizza in Turin, Italy at random little street-side window bakeries. As well as higher-tier bakeries in the city center of Turin. That last one is probably the best of all, and I wish I could remember the name of the particular one I went to 3 times, but it was years ago.

But my favorite? I'm a bit embarrassed to say it. Funny thing is it was always these little mini frozen pizzas from pic related. I don't think it was store brand and it wasn't only Carrefour that carried this consistently similar variety because I bought it at another retailer, maybe a different brand but similar product, while I was in Italy. Just a really basic pizza margherita. I added oregano and sometimes some salami on top near the end of the baking time in a little oven. Fucking soft and chewy bread with a slight crisp outer layer, sweet and tangy sauce, little brown bubbles on the cheese surface. God damn, the flavors were intense for such a simple little shit thing. Well... that's my story.

Little frozen pizzas I found in grocery stores in Italy. That's my favorite. But I'd still give "the best" title to the product sold in the bakery I revisited in the city center of Turin. Lot's of little shops there sell great focaccia but this one bakery was booming with business and it had the best pizza around. Over-priced, but I can not blame them. They are earning that price in ways.

/long ass post.

truly, truly...what makes a good pizza - the secret ingredient is the sauce. If it is made with passion and perfection then usually the integrity of the whole pie will be undeniable, uncompramised, everytime.

Why do people speak so much? It was a chore to read this post, so there's a TL;DR for everyone. Taking this long to say so little is the most asinine thing.

Why are you trying to defend yourself? That's what my opinion is. Ignore it, use it to appear less pretentious, post it to facebook. Do what you want. "B-But I'm drunk, that's why." You don't need to justify your actions to an anonymous image board, which is why I can give you feedback without worrying about hurting your feelings. You should use it, or not. It's pretty whatevs.

You asked the question "Why do people speak so much?". I answered it. You're obviously here for the night, or morning, depending on where you are. So what the fuck is it to you, then. I like talking about pizza. You obviously like reading about pizza, but not too much... and maybe not too little. Suck a dick, goldie locks.

There's no one singular one for me. It's more what's nasty, then discount those, then what's left, and those are good. All New York pizzas.

Also all New York pizzas that I discount for being nasty. Those are generally the ones that people stand in line for or sbarro or some lame shit like that.

The best ones, I just know where they are and don't care about the names, sometimes I get there and sometimes I don't, I don't care that much. {ep[;;e that grew up here know more than you.

Buenos Aires is also the best pizza city hands down.

>> No.5785121

No, seriously, there was just ONE person who ate pizza in Italy?
Albeit Turin is a great city, it obviously can't cope with making a good pizza. Even here, in Florence, pizzas are disgusting, compared to Neapolitan and Sicilian ones.
