What would you expect at an establishment that looked like this, /ck/?

>> No.5750356

At least a decent burger, fries, and shake.

>> No.5750359

>>5750349
Tulsas best burgers and malts, obviously

>> No.5750361

Overcooked, factory-processed meat that used to be good decades ago, but now the establishment survives as a novelty, employing minimum wage workers to take frozen bulk product out of a wax-lined box and throw it on the flattop until it resembles a thin hockey-puck.

>having prejudice from the look of a resturant

>> No.5750382

Being overrun with zombies in a few minutes after happening upon the place. Two survivors, a man and his young daughter, behind the counter, armed with a shot gun and a rifle to defend against the undead scourge.
Also, cash only policy.

Just throwing that out there buddy.

Overrated boring generic typical American food probably previously frozen but frequented by geriatrics with no taste buds and too tight nostalgia goggles saying "my dad took me here when I was 6 years old and I've been coming here for 60 years"

>> No.5750571

Wait in line behind 3 obese middle aged white people, one of which has a 7 year old boy with him.
Sense a slight discomfort from the server when he sees I'm the next person in line and I'm not white.
Get a burger that's above-average greasy and below-average flavorful.

If they can stay open continuously since 1949, probably doing something alright. I'd guess their ice cream better be homemade, or else it's not as good as it used to be. The burgers, I'll assume, will be the style of the 1950s, thin, griddle cooked, greasy, steamed soft bun. Maybe onions and mustard too.

It's like a yellow Frisco Freeze.

I'd expect cheap as dirt food. Thin burgers, fries fried in old grease, and milkshakes that have barely been blended.

Still, it stays open all night, so... Y'know, if it's 3 in the morning.

Hole in the wall places in cities with a good location tend to have really good food because it is expensive keeping a restaurant in the city. Hole in the wall places in small towns tend to have switched over to the same crap frozen shit that is some how lower quality and worse than the big chains. They are typically one of the only options besides McDonalds and Subway so people go there because they have no choice and it used to be passable decades ago. There are exceptions but thats the general rule

I stopped at this place in northern Minnesota one time thinking they probably have good food. I got a "hot turkey sandwich". Wonder bread, some kind of extruded sandwich meat and some glop out of a jar for gravy. I no longer believe in the American dream.

1st generation immigrant here, we're working to fix that. Give those places a little more time and they'll die off naturally. Then, a vacancy sign, and our kind will find our way out there. New opportunity to make money, new opportunity to bring a little flavor to the benighted people of flyover land (even if we have to water it down a bit)

It's odd when people cling to this outdated caricature of what "the Real America" looks like. As if the Back to the Future 1950s was ACTUALLY what things were like, let alone desirable.

The real America is right here on the coast. Always has been, and always will be. It takes fresh blood to make this land great. That and competition. You don't see mediocrity stick around for decades like that here. It either adheres to a certain minimum standard, or it's replaced within months.
