Three Floyd's always has artwork like that. And I agree that a lot of colorful cartoony labels are really awful and hipstery, but the reason people drink 3F, and go to their brewpub, which is also notoriously obnoxious, is because they make really, really good beer. I don't know how to explain it, sorry. I don't know beer terminologies or even how to classify different styles from one another. Due to these two facts, I've not the slightest how to describe it or any beer relative any other beer.
I'll say this much: the Yuengling B&T is deceptively lite and refreshing. I'd expect such a dark beer to be, for lack of better words, heavy and full-bodied but find it quite the opposite.
It's so crisp, I only drink it in summers. It's like lemonade for me. Though that might give the wrong impression. It's not sour or tangy in the slightest.
In short: idklol

I grew to like it after adding a bit of water and letting it open up in the glass for a bit. Its definitely the kind of whisky you won't be having more than one a night.

Nice fruity taste, that kind of hay/mown grass, and a small amount of sulfur (doesn't actually seem to be a detriment). If you overdo it though, it all starts to taste the breath of a passed out diabetic, so be careful.

I'm pretty sure the brita filter thing is a myth. When you are distilling your own booze doesn't matter what kind you get different things as different alcohols evaporate and condense at different temperatures.

So first you get the foreshot which has methane and will make you go blind so you throw that out. Next you get what they call the "Head" followed by the "Heart" and then the "Tails".

Now where you make the cuts for those three takes a lot of skill or desire for a superior product. The "Heart" is the real good stuff. Smooth taste and minimal hangover if distilled correctly and cut at the right time.

So when shitty distilleries make shit vodka or whatever else they are less discriminating on where they draw those lines resulting in a finished product with some of what should be head or tail in it. Tastes shittier and makes you feel worse.

So I don't see how a brita filter designed to take organic material and chlorine out of tap water is going to make a difference with alcohols.

Some people say yes others say nay. I think those who say nay are full of shit. It's a scientific process not witchcraft.

So some people save their heads and tails then run a whole bunch all at once and collect the heart from that. It has a name I forget what it is. To me it makes sense. You will get a pretty strong product and you will have to make the cuts smaller but theoretically it should get the good bits out.

So if you got a bunch of shit vodka and distilled it and were careful about where you made the heart cut you could end up with pretty premium grade vodka...lol premium vodka. Since vodka is essentially unflavored when you distill it you don't lose any "flavor" that would be from the mash/wash.

That said I think if you have the set up to distill things you might as well just make your own mash/wash and do it that way rather than buy shitty booze and try to purify it...even if that is kinda an option.
