like not completely ash black, but just a little black and delicious brown.

when I eat hummus I sometimes intentionally burn the bread charcoal black. helps me with an upset stomach, but I do it with organic bread.

No joke, burning too much just makes the molecules go fucking crazy and produces a bajillion unpredictable compounds.

Some of which are inevitably carcinogens.

Pretty sure the black stuff are toxic , but I like to toast/bake mine in a little toaster oven with the butter(or cheese) pre applied and I usually end up forgetting it and having it get a bit black on one side, it always gets the perfect mixture of black/golden though.

i like a little burnt when the toast is actually grilled with butter. but dry burnt toast in the toaster just pisses me off.
