Taco truck thread.

Pic related is a live huarache with fajita beef. What does /ck/ like from the taco truck? I usually just get barbacoa tacos but the huarache was fat.

This is my kind of thread, I get realistically 50%+ of my meals from trucks, mostly taco trucks. I usually mix it up with tacos, quesadillas, sopes, gorditas tostadas, tortas, pretty much I try everything I can. The choice of meat is something I like trying different trucks to find out their specialty, my favorite if made correctly is carnitas, then come al pastor, then fajita. I use to be strictly fajita but I've gotten more adventurous lately. I will bump your thread with some of my taco truck pics.

Now I hate living in Alabama, but these Mexicans are doing gods work. I finally got to try lengua, tripa, and cabeza. I fucking love Mexican food. I hope to try other dishes and love them as much as I love cabeza.

I feel for you man, I'm in Houston and we have an insane selection of mexican places to eat. I went to VA for a bit and their best mexican food was damn near inedible. These mexicans could seriously make a killing if they just packed up and opened a business in some mexicanless area.

Haha, some of the places here give you a foil pouch with grilled onions and peppers, some are sliced and some just give you whole grilled onions. Its pretty great in the highly mexican populated areas because there is a truck on every corner and they compete, I have a few that give a cup of charro beans with every order and they are the most flavorful charro beans I have ever had.

My nigga. It's like a crunchy taco that doesn't suck, you can pile 3x as much stuff on top. Most trucks don't have fryers but if you can find a taqueria or mex place that fries whole tortillas for the tostada base you've found a good one.

Here is something that you can do "better" no need to call it a protip just consider it solid advice

When you get to a taco stand make the best effort to order 2 tacos at a time ---- You may ask why 2 why not 4 or 5 .... When you order 2 tacos you will find that you have more than enough time to eat them while they are still in peak shape nice and hot .... So when you still have about 2 bites left get near the taco guy and ask for 2 more. I would have already asked for one of my first ones to be alpastor and if I was pleased I would asked for 2 of those and if I though the asada was better I would ask for 2 of those instead ... Should the tacos at this place suck as some you can easily walk away after having not ordered a shitload of meh taquitos. Should you absolutely feel the need to not cut in line as to not cut in line ask for 2 for here and 3 to go or stupid shit ... the point being always eating tacos while hot ... cold tacos blow avoid eating that shit like the plague just avoid it. ENJOY YOUR TACOS

Maybe it's not called the same thing everywhere but it's a bean soup with some peppers and pork and a really good broth, served in a styrofoam cup with a spoon. One place puts a generous portion of tripe in theirs and I'm not a big fan but the broth is damn good.

Yeah this I know beans are not served in tacos and when they are they wont have me as a repeat customer.

Not every place offers beans to clients but it is fairly common. Sometimes you may need to ask for them and sometimes in disappointing instances dogshit taqueros want to add beans into tacos they sell. When at most they should offer them on the side or when you get tacos to go they give them to you in something like sandwich baggies.
