What's /ck/s 'go-to' recipe website?

>> No.5447134

>>5447129
probably epicurious for general stuff or chefsteps/ cookingforengineers

>> No.5447142

Chef John, then google

>> No.5447159

Only the best http://www.foodnetwork.com/chefs/guy-fieri/recipes.html

>> No.5447167

I first go to foodgawker to get an idea of a recipe, then go to allrecipes for the reviews, and then I usually end up winging it.

>> No.5447177

>>5447167
This is what I do.. usually look up the idea and then scrap the recipe.
Just looking for some quality sites w/ less homestyle 'can-o-soup' recipes.

>> No.5447185

>>5447167
I do this too.

A better question is what are the websites with the best food pictures that also provide recipes?

>> No.5447193

Tastespotting.

I especially enjoy the search engine.

>> No.5447194

>>5447129
i usually google what im looking for, look at about 10 recipes to get an idea of the method and ingredients then do it myself tasting as i go unless i do something where a recipe matters or i want it to be accurate

>> No.5447198

>>5447194
Ditto.

>> No.5447384

>>5447194

Super chef lets you add ingredients then it gives you recipes based on the ingredients. Like one time all I had was carrots, butter, cheese and onions and I ended up making this awesome soup by making carrot and onion purée
Usually works but not foolproof

How the fuck do you eat that thing? With your hands?

howsweeteats.com
foodgawker.com
tastespotting.com

and then maybe foodnetwork

Pretty much this. Although for anything BBQ related I like amazingribs.com. The way the author mercilessly plugs his sponsors is a little annoying but the wealth of information regarding smoking meats backed up with a lot of research makes it palatable. Some of the actual recipes are decent as well.

>> No.5448348

>>5447129
This site is pretty good in fact, once the "mix up some ammonia and clorox" answers are dealt with.

>> No.5448369

>>5448174
I agree- superb recipes. I use his memphis dust and kansas city sauce on ribs. Now I'm asked to make ribs every time I go to a 'bring something' bbq.

Usually budget bytes for everyday stuff. The Wunderpot was pretty good.
No Recipes if I have money to burn and some free time for cooking.

>> No.5449406

same here, I just need an idea then I'll know how to make it

there are a few exceptions but that only happens maybe once a year

one of the few sites I have bookmarked is this one: http://www.seriouseats.com/the-food-lab/

But for the rest mostly cookbooks and google/youtube. When I want to cook something new I mostly compare different recipes.
