My only problem with beans in chili is that too often they're used as a cheap substitute for meat, as tasteless filler.

There are awesome, flavorful beans out there that wonderfully complement the taste of various meats, but you almost never find them in chili. It's usually cheap shitty kidney beans or white beans.

Tijuana is a horrible place to visit the last I asked. I would thing the same for DF so no reason to be mad in fact TJ, DF & Juarez are today absolute shit holes to visit. I have no reason to visit TJ aside from relatives. As for food is great >_ my sides _< food in mexico is great all ever even moreso when it is a home cooked meal. Sure a trip to a local asadero is nice while doing something else but certainly not a reason to travel less so to shit holes already mentioned. Shit ensenada and rosarito are far better places to enjoy your days and evenings. El golfo is also no slouch. I'm not a professional mexican chef like the rest of the posters in this thread obviously are but I try. If you want them to stay warm for people to grab as they're eating then take a stack and place them in a deep plate or bowl and put a plate on top like a lid, then put them in the microwave for around 1 minute, or sometimes I take a stack, wrap them in a paper towel and wrap that in a dish towel, sprinkle a bit of water on it and microwave it for a minute. If you're making tacos to be made instantly then just put them 1 by 1 on a griddle or in a pan for 10ish seconds per side, this is the best method but they don't stay hot for long. Hope that helps.
