Why do they spell it "pho" if it's pronounced "phuh"? Why do foreign words spelled in English not follow the laws of the English language? It's not even coming from the same alphabet, it's not like there's some historical context that explains why the word needs to be spelled like that in English. Just spell it the way it SOUNDS.

/ck/ is actually at that perfect point between dead board (/n/ or /an/) & over saturated troll edge master race vomit (like /tv/ or /v/).

This board has adequte lolz, but still plenty of respectful conversation about the topic of the board.

>Anglo complaining about the spelling of a foreign word
>Anglo complaining about spelling
>Anglo spelling
How the fuck do you even come up with complaining about counterintuitive spelling in a language thats spelled phonetically, IN CONTRAST TO ENGLISH? How the fuck do you come up with something as dumb as the "Laws of the English Language" when English famously doesn't have an official centralised regulatory institute, doesn't have an official spelling nor does it even have a consistent spelling in different countries. English is fucking flooded with Anglo-French and Greco-Roman terms unchanged to accommodate Middle English phonetics and English hasn't updated its spelling conventions since the Great Vowel Shift took place and now you want to basterdise a foreign word just because you mix up /foʊ/ with [fəː˧˩˧]?
Try applying "spelling it the way it SOUNDS' to "normal spelled" English words first.
Step 1. which sound does "gh" represent?
>as in Laugh?
>as in Ghost?
>as in through?

Finally, it seems you have a use for that linguistics degree.
