Goodness, that's been my experience with them, that's for sure.

My cavalier has severe separation anxiety, waiting and crying until I come home again. My other cavalier looks him, like wtf is your problem, she always comes back, so likely not a breed trait, just especially sensitive. When I'm out with him, he points as well, but makes eye contact with his owner every few moments, always staying close, and checking back with me. This I'm told is in fact a breed trait, so maybe some wires get crossed that spills over into that separation problem.

My dad is a vet and I've heard some pretty bad stories about dogs with really severe separation anxiety... breaking teeth against their cage, throwing themselves against windows, literally destroying all the furniture and anything they can get their hands on.

Some breeds are definitely more prone to it, but there are ways to prevent or mitigate the issue.
