So tell me /ck/, do you respect pic related as a chef? I can admire that the guy started from nothing and made a name for himself but for whatever reason i just can't respect him 100% for it. Anyone here feel the same, or am i just a hater?

I wouldn't go that far... I just wouldn't respect them much.

he must be alright then.

I don't think he is a particularly talented chef, but hes pretty good at southwestern food and putting chili peppers and corn in everything

I tend to cook like that when I'm drunk

>that immense wave of euphoria that rushes over you and lasts for days when Bobby Flay gets his ass handed to him on a silver platter and garnished with corn seven ways on Iron Chef

>> No.5344098

ok bobby flay is much like emeril lagasse

if you take away emeril's "essence" seasoning, there's no more emeril.

if you didn't let bobby flay use ancho and chipotle chiles he's a line cook at el torrito.
and if the queen had balls, she'd be king.

I went to his burger restaurant and it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
the service was unacceptably slow and the food was bland, burger was dry.

I love watching him on Iron Chef because he's such a fuck-up.
I liked Throwdown a lot because he almost universally got his ass handed to him, although "let's judge via a cheering crowd on the defender's home turf" is a pretty flawed system to begin with.

>the service was unacceptably slow

I tried his burger chain place at the Cherry Hill Mall and it was the same, just amazingly slow despite not being that busy. I wasn't terribly disappointed with the burger but I honestly felt it wasn't anything I couldn't have done myself at home, and I'm not particularly skilled in the kitchen.

I've been to his burger place in philly a couple times. I like the burgers but I'm not really a fan of all the sauces
