the extra strength 5HE's are 12oz cup equivalents and you can easily specify the amount by merely sipping or downing the entire thing if you want, rather than fucking around with a pill splitter

also theres no indication of how long a single pill lasts so listing the number of pills vs price gives me no proper way to pair it to 5HE

Looked this up because I'd love to be able to condense my eating into a couple drinks a day but rice/oat flour and canola oil with multivitamins really isn't an ideal long term diet.

1 scoop (however much that is, idk) of whey powder

I really hope you mistyped that. A cup of olive oil is something like 2k calories / 200g fat.

It actually works pretty well, main issue is the lack of certain beneficial substances will prevent you from having optimal health. Like the antioxidants in blueberries, for example. That said, most people have shit diets to begin with, so it's quite a bit more functional than the average first-world diet unless you live in some badass asian country with a lot of pickled vegetables and what not. Honestly, in some kind of strange communist future in which we were all forced to use these instead of actual food, we'd probably be healthier as a populace.

I could see it working better if you were to supplement with something like this:

but food science is still sketchy enough that I'd worry about having such a restricted diet.

I recently discovered caffeinated water. L1quid is actually cheaper than most ordinary water in the shops nearby (29p for a 500ml bottle in Home Bargains).

Dietetics is actually fairly sturdy. There's some questions with some things, but for example if you want to ask about a certain vitamin or mineral you can be informed what it does and roughly how much you need. The science is out there and it's pretty sturdy.

What we don't actually know much about is how substances HELP the body, rather than what the body NEEDS. Try to ask the scientific community how something like Rhodiola Rosea works and you'll get some (very well informed) guesses and heresay, but no guarantees. The benefits of various phytochemicals have only recently come under examination, but something that helps us is very different from something we need. A good example is the weird fucker that's survived off of nothing but pizza for the last 25 years. His health certainly isn't optimal, but it's actually better than a lot of people by virtue of the fact that (iirc) he isn't a total fatass. The only real issue with something like Soylent is that individual needs do vary and this isn't necessarily perfect, but that doesn't make the idea of "oil, flour, vitamins" any worse. Even then, suboptimal intake is often still very much functional. It's just not optimal.

That said, that product is absolute garbage and nothing inside of it has a high enough dosage to be bioactive. It's like trying to fix up your kitchen with only $20 to spend. It's nowhere near enough. Ironically, you can get most of the good stuff in there (Gingko Biloba, for example) at a combined cost significantly lower than the product, at least relative to the dosage.

Oh, though I should add that most dieticians are fucking idiots. Lots of doctors are too, but dieticians are especially bad. This is especially true because a lot of them are actually "Nutritionists", which isn't a legally protected title in a lot of areas. Anyone can call themselves a Nutritionist, with or without any kind of degree of education. A lot of Dieticians are also old fucks working on old knowledge because nobody in any medical field ever bothers to keep up with the new information. Only reason it hits Dietetics so hard is the fairly recent advancements.

Those 5 hour energy shots make me feel sick. Also, it takes me less than a minute to put a pot of coffee on and I can do other things while it's brewing/cooling so it's not like it wastes time.

This. It's not an active process. So it's like downloading something in the background. Who cares how long it takes?
