here in the bay area with so many international supermarkets its more common to head out to a oriental market for fresh fried fish and the cooks are either Mexicans or Chinese the fish is so fresh that its nearly impossible to get wrong

Oh I would definitely visit Asian/International supermarkets if they were near me, but I live in a heavily Mexican area. I'd have to drive an hour to get to the nearest Asian supermarket.

note that a comal is not deep enough to deep fry in and if you ask me to to bring you a comal when you want a disco you will be receiving something you actually didn't want

that being said sure you can use a disco as a comal you warm tortillas and that is what makes it so great its many uses

Dude a comal is a flat griddle for dry cooking, and a disco is for frying and quick stewing. Sure you can use a disco as a comal, but not the other way around.
