Britbong here.

I visited Canada, the US, and mexico last year. Lete fucking tell you... authentic Mexican food is the best thing I have ever eaten. I was lucky enough to make my way through southern California and stay for a few days. I ate at the hole in the wall dirty ass Mexican place. At first I was turned off, all the workers looked dirty, and the place was a scum hole, but holy shit. I ate like 9 tacos, a plate of nachos, and ordered a burrito to take back to the hotel.

I'm from Canada and the only authentic Mexican I've had here was from the couple of Mexican restaurants actually run by Mexicans. It's a world of difference from the boxed kit Tex-Mex I grew up with. Fresh salsa, herbs, bomb fish, delicious just-made taco shells, fuckin' ceviche.

I was also on a cruise last year that made port in Mexico. We ate lunch at a weird little restaurant where the fat elderly owner was blasting pop music and dancing around drunk. The food was excellent(I think I had fish tacos, although I had trouble ordering since I don't know a word of Spanish and they didn't have English menus) and I had a couple of mixed drinks that were so strong I spent the rest of the afternoon in a drunken haze and was hungover by dinner. I asked for a mojito and they gave me a glass of tequila and seltzer with a piece of lime, some mint leaves, and about a tablespoon of undissolved raw sugar mouldering at the bottom.

Everyone was trying to sell us pot and jewelry.
