As long as he washes his paws and wears a hair net (aka, body stocking), I'm fine with it. It'd be fun to watch.

Rats are pretty clean animals. Look at the mess the kid is making in this picture and look how cultivated the rats behave.

Except for all the diseases they are carriers of. Including and not limited to the Plague. Not the Black Plague, the regular one.

>implying black is not regular too
(just kidding)

Every other animal carries diseases too. Rat just happed to co-habitate areas with us. 50,000+ people die every year from rabies contracted from dogs. (mostly in china and countries that don't put emphasis on animal control) But you don't consider dogs to be a disease ridden animal. The fleas that spread plague on rats spread it better on cats and dogs. After all you don't share your bed with a rat.

my SO's mother had pet rats and some of them were privilaged enough to have free roam in the house. She wound up accidentally killing one in her sleep by rolling on it. As a previous rodent owner I found the notion terrifying.

A friend of mine used to have a pet rat that would sit on his shoulder most of the time, when it had to shit or piss it would climb down and go over to its cage and shit and piss in there and then go climb back up onto his shoulder.

I knew a old cat lady, who had 8 of her cats die due to some rare disease. Then she wasn't allowed to have any more cats for 10 years because she was a carrier for the disease. So she became a old dog lady instead.
