OP get your self some decent pasta, some velvet golden cheese, a little cream, and paprika. Youll make a mac and cheese that is 10 times better and cheaper.

melt 2-3tbsp butter
add equivalent in white flour, cook until it doesn't taste floury and smells like pie
pour in cup of cold milk, stir, add in another cup, stir
reduce until thickened to desired consistency (optional: add fat soluble ingredients like spicy things and such here)
take off heat and mix in shredded cheddar etc.
meanwhile, boil macaroni in salted water and put in casserole dish
don the macaroni with the cheese sauce and mix
place breadcrumbs on top and cook at 375 for 20-25 mins
