Do you ever use these at restaurnts? I sure don't.

I have a saltshaker but no pepper. What's the poin?

>> No.4745502

I can't remember the last time I reached for either of those. Usually some obnoxiously chirpy freak of nature sexually assaults me with a giant pepper grinder seconds after my food arrives anyway. As for salt, lol.

You mean you don't season your food, ever?

What in the hell would you put salt on?

If your food doesn't come to the table properly seasoned, something is seriously wrong.

Full pleb.

I work at a Americanese restaurant and people are always dumping a fuckload of pepper into the egg-drop soup we serve.

The food we make here is so terribly fucking bland, but what do I expect in a city that's fucking bland.

You clowns cant possibly be this uneducated about something as basic as seasoning

No. They're like the grated cheese and pepper flakes you see at pizzerias. They're just there for decoration.

Oh fuck you. I use the pepper flakes all of the time. Gives the pizza a nice kick.

But the "cheese" is no good.

They're decoration, they use flakes for visual appeal instead of grinding them for flavor and eating appeal.

I use salt, pepper, powdered parm, crushed red pepper, hot sauce, etc whenever it's needed. Sometimes it's not, sometimes it is.

It's not a hard concept to understand if you're not autistic.

>> No.4745679

>>4745644
Bullshit. They use them for flavor. It's a seasoning. That's kind of the point. Or are you really this autistic?

>> No.4745787

Salt, yes, but not the pepper-like dust substance. After having Costco's telicherry black peppers, oh my lawd, I can't go back to that Sysco shite.

Salt is the very last thing that any restaurant food needs. And I don't mean because of taste.

>> No.4746407

I don't use either at restaurants, except on french fries. I love pepper on french fries, so I always add extra, but usually restaurant food (including fries) are salty enough.
At home, I have a pepper and salt grinder set for both the table and the kitchen. Actually, I have 3 pepper grinders in the kitchen. One is telicherry black, one is for toasted sichuan peppercorns, and the other is white pepper. The pepper grinder on my dining table has a peppercorn blend. Both the kitchen and table salt grinders have a salt blend in them.

I have my own PHS salt shaker and a pepper grinder. I bring those with me when I eat out. I bring my own silverware too.
