Nice to hear that. Do people actually eat several of those american pancakes? I'd be totally full after one. Maybe they'd be fine with some fruit or something inside, but on itself or with some syrup it must be really dry and heavy.
Oh, one more question, how do pancakes go with salty foods like eggs and meat? It's like eating sausage with ice cream, in my opinion. I never understood how people can eat those together.

Yea, I'm sure people do but there isn't a standard size to a pancake it's just a personal preference. I've seen crepes made in other countries that look more filling than several American pancakes.
Cakes made from the pan should always be eaten with fruit. I don't understand how people eat them plain after the age of 9 either.

They aren't mixed together so it's not like you're eating meat flavored pancakes but if you grew up eating only savory foods then I can see how you'd think it's too sweet.

Most of the time they have less bread than comes in a slice of bread. Like the other poster said, you can make them as big or as small as you want, but I most often see them around 4" in diameter (that's about 9 cm if I remember my murrican to yurop conversions) and around 1/4" to 1/2" thick (eh, .4ish cm to 1.1 cm).

People have preferences. Also, no one eats 5 cm thick pancakes where I live, so I grew up liking european pancakes.
Stop using the word hipster as a random insult. I still don't see what's insulting about it and how it correlates to my taste of pancakes.
