I choose an asian restaurant that went out of business nearby. Weilihannas Asian Buffet. They had child labor and you know how that goes. (It was the owners kids just helping out, cut them some slack)

KFC has collards, no? Although KFC is rubbish. I prefer Popeyes chicken, Church's biscuits and Bojangles' dirty rice, but the three are nearly interchangeable.

Chains aside, there's a diner in town here that offers honey-fried chicken. The chicken is clearly marinated in buttermilk, but it has a delightful honey-y sweetness and a bit of a pungent/spicy/hot kick from the use of chili powder.
When it comes out, served with some rather meh-tier collards, some very good black-eyed peas with smocked ham hock and a decent yeast biscuit, dat crunch... dat aroma... I go nuts. Shame the collards are so meh.

For major chains I'd choose Popeyes. There are actually a few good places in Haverhill, Massachusetts of all places. One is called The Chicken Connection, another is a convenience store Called Charlies Variety. Both have god tier fried chicken. There's also a good wing place whose name I've forgotten. Fuck no. Don't get me wrong, popeye's is great, but the great New Orleans and surrounding areas (born and raised here) are LITTERED with places where you can get an authentic, delicious Louisiana style poboy. Acme Oyster house is one of them!

Acme Oyster house is also the best place you should go if you want a taste of real Creole/Cajun food. (It's cheap, and it's authentic.)

I'm white, for what it's worth. So of course money is no object. My favorite chicken "chains" are Raising Cane's and Chick-Fil-A. Next down the list is Popeyes, because its really tasty and the sides are legit. Especially red beans and rice, cajun fries, and biscuits. Next down is KFC, it doesn't suck but the sides are shit and the chicken isn't as good as Popeyes.

Obviously a deep fryer is ideal, but if you don't have access to that, you can deep fry chicken breasts in a pan. dredge chicken in egg/milk mixture, roll in flour/spice mix, repeat, fry in canola oil. Serve with grape cough syrup and watermelon.

I didn't even know the place existed until the day I had it, and it made popeyes taste like shit, it was like god came from the heavens and gifted me this delicious deep fried ambrosia. The best part was that they cook their fucking potato wedges in the same batter they put on the chicken which is absolutely rediculous.
