It may be hard to believe because of all the hype surrounding In-N-Out, but a lesser known Midwest institution called Steak n' Shake actually improved on the Double Double simply by sticking it in a melt. They're expanding east, so east coasters no longer have to fly across the country to enjoy decent fast food. You're welcome.

We have Steak-n-Shake in Georgia... Every time I bring some burgers and fries home the bag is literally soaked in grease. The burger bun is completely soaked in grease and everything just tastes greasy. The shakes are a appointment's and everything about the place is just shit. Just no. Steak and Shake is okay sometimes, especially if you have been drinking or if you just want some decent grease. But it is really nothing to be excited about, the best thing they have is a huge selection of shakes they're willing to whip up in any crazy way you choose. Not the fucking melts, that's just the greasiest bit and the thousand island dressing they have on it is 99 percent ketchup.

Steak and Shake is exactly like every other fast food place. We all know it is shit. They know it too. But sometimes under the right circumstance it can be one of the best guilty pleasures known to our terrible society.

I do actually like it better than the average tier mega chains but only because it is different and the shakes are good. Not because they actually have great food.

i didnt get it at 1st when i was making it, like big fucking deal its a burger between bread rather than a bun. if anything it sounded just messier, nothing special

The red beans and rice are not authentic but fuck are they good. I like to crumble my biscuit into them, mix and eat. I'll also dip the chicken in it sometimes. The fries are very good too, seasoned fries.
